Finding Happiness Through Positive Thinking

In fact there was a recent movie “The Pursuit of Happiness” that explores some of the issues. And without a doubt, whether you admit it or not, being happy is what you really are seeking, deep down inside. The following 5 steps will help you find happiness.

1. Try and take the simple time to step outside of your own, personal situation and do a bit of good for someone else, be it a stranger or someone you know. If you do this, you will both be giving someone else a special gift of happiness and you will add to your own happiness.

2. Try and remember that you yourself are the person you are as a result of all your previous thoughts and actions. Now, if this scares you somewhat, just use the information to think more positively to make the changes to yourself and achieve a more fulfilling life.

3. Give yourself the occasional permission to feel sad or depressed if something bad happens. You are only human and it’s to be expected that you have your down moments. But, don’t get lost in these moments and don’t let them consume you.

4. Make sure you try and resolve that the most important choices you make each day is the choice of your attitude. Circumstances are controlled by your attitude, so make sure your attitude is a positive one.

5. Realize that being happy is not in fact dependent on how much money you have or what you own. In fact some of the poorest people are the happiest. Money, contrary to popular notion, is not the solution to your depression and it won’t bring happiness. There are many unhappy rich people in the world.

Achieving happiness is possible, but you should need to take control of your thoughts. This is the most important thing you can do.
